Q: How
can I get more information about DTS
newspaper subscription programs?
A:
Complete the registration form.
After you’ve submitted the completed
registration form,
you’ll receive a confirmation email.
One of our sales representatives
will call you to set up
your organization account and answer
any questions you might have about
the fundraising
program or the combination offer
program. Both are sponsored by Daley
Technology Systems, LLC (DTS).
Q: What
happens after your sales
representative contacts me?
A:
DTS will set up your organization
account and quickly create your
free, personalized newspaper
subscription program website. This
website is where you input newspaper
subscription orders, monitor
participation of your members in the
program and track results.
Also, you can personalize your
website by uploading news, event
listings, promotional content and
photos to your website to encourage
interest and participation in your
newspaper subscription program.
Q: Do I
have to input all the newspaper
subscription orders my members sell?
A:
The administrator for your program
is in charge of newspaper
subscription order input on your
personalized website. The
administrator can assign other
people in the organization for "data
entry" (order input) into the
secured database. However, each
assigned user in your organization
must have a username and password to
log on to your organization’s
personalized website.
Q: Are
there any costs to these newspaper
subscription programs?
A: Absolutely not. These programs
are free to public and private
organizations. We’ll even create a
free, personalized website you can
use to monitor your organization’s
progress and results.
Q: When
should I run a program and is there
a specific time frame?
A:
You can start either program at any
time. We recommend implementing a
program at least twice a year. But
you can run either program whenever
you wish, based on your revenue
needs. However, a fundraising
program that runs longer than four
weeks might not be able to sustain
interest among your members who will
be selling newspapers.
Q: Is there
a specific sales goal?
A:
No. Your organization should sell as
many newspaper subscriptions as
possible during the program. The
more new orders your group sells,
the more revenue your group
generates. For fundraising programs,
we suggest you target a minimum goal
of two valid newspaper subscriptions
per member. Some members might sell
more than two subscriptions. Others
might sell less.
Q. What is
a valid newspaper subscription
order?
A.
Newspaper subscription orders
must run for a minimum of 28 days
before they are considered valid
orders and before your group or
organization can earn its
commission. Also, all new
subscription orders must be prepaid
by check (made payable to the
newspaper your members are selling)
or credit card. We discourage the
handling of cash. If a customer
insists on paying cash for a new
subscription, please note that on
the order form.
Q: Where do
we obtain order forms for either
program?
A:
The DTS management team will
provide you with all the sales
material you need to start either
program, including order forms. Once
your organization is set up, anyone
can print order forms, instructions
and sales sheets from your
personalized website.
Q. After
input, where do we submit new orders
and the payments?
A.
For fundraising programs, input the
subscription orders onto your
personalized website as soon as
possible. Then send new orders,
along with accompanying check
payments, in an envelope to Daley
Technology Systems for processing.

For combination offer programs, DTS
will make arrangements with each
participating organization to
expedite order processing. Once
again, though, we suggest that new
orders be input into your
personalized website as quickly as
possible after the customer agrees
to subscribe.
Q: Should
members of my group go door-to-door
in their fundraising efforts?
A:
For safety’s sake we advise against
your group members selling
door-to-door. The fundraising
program can be more successful if
there’s a “relationship” between the
seller and the buyer. Your group
members should target family
members, relatives, friends and
neighbors in their newspaper
subscription sales efforts.
Q: Can
group members who sell newspapers in
the fundraising program earn
rewards?
A:
Yes. We have an incentives
program in place that rewards your
members, based on the number of
valid newspaper subscriptions they
sell during your program. When your
members qualify to earn incentives –
after a new subscription runs at
least 28 days -- they will receive
an email that directs them to our
incentives website, where they can
select the incentive(s) they want to
receive. Fulfillment of incentives
may take four to six weeks after the
promotion ends.
Q: How much
commission will my group receive for
each new valid newspaper
subscription sold during either
program
A:
For fundraising programs,
your group receives a 100%
commission equal to the subscription
payment collected at the point of
sale for each new valid newspaper
subscription sold. The
newspapers pay 50% of your group’s
commission and DTS pays the other
50%. Do not divulge your commission
rate to customers. Audit Bureau of
Circulations (ABC) guidelines
prohibit this. ABC does not want the
generous commission to be the main
reason (or inducement) a person
subscribes to the paper. A
subscription order should be sold
solely on the merit of the product.
The program’s objective is to sell
newspaper subscriptions to customers
who not only want to help your
organization, but who also want to
read a newspaper. For more
information, please refer to ABC
rules and regulations located on the
DTSconnect.com website.
For combination offer programs, the
commission paid to an organization
for each valid new subscription sold
is at the discretion of DTS.
